Whatsapp

Email and WhatsApp are cluttered messes now, with endless messages and urgent pings. The problem isn’t the platform, but the message and its frequency.

Email used to be exciting, but now it’s a cluttered mess. WhatsApp, once fresh and personal, has become just as chaotic with endless messages. The truth? It’s not the platform, but the message—and its frequency—that determines if you stand out.

Whatsapp Is The New Email – Aka The Digital Zombie Apocalypse

Remember when email first landed? We were like giddy little nerds…

“You’ve got mail” made us sprint to the dial-up. It was exciting. It felt important. Like someone had something meaningful to say.

Fast-forward 20 years…

Inbox: 9,328 unread messages.

Relevance: somewhere between spam and Viagra ads (well I’ve let me secret out on my search history, lol). It’s now a dumpster fire of discounts, desperate cold DMs, and newsletters you never asked for (except mine, obviously—mine’s genius).

Then along comes WhatsApp.

Fresh. Clean. Personal.

“Everyone opens it.” “Best open rate ever.”

All the marketers wet their pants: “Send it on WhatsApp. People actually read that stuff!” Wanna know what I’ve got right now?

15 unread messages.

And another 70 in WhatsApp groups that I will absolutely, definitely, never reply to. Why? Because just like email, it’s now cluttered. Everyone thinks their message is urgent. Everyone wants a reply. Everyone wants to ping your soul to death.

So now what? If email is dead and WhatsApp is the bloated corpse of immediacy, what’s next? Some AI robot that can read my mind? An implant that vibrates every time a brand wants me to “check out their limited offer”? Or maybe we all go back to pigeons and postcards? Thats showing my age!

Here’s the TRUTH:

It’s never been easier to send messages. It’s never been harder to make people care. Your platform isn’t the problem. Your message is. (And the frequency. And the fact that you’re yelling into a void of 6,349 other “urgent” WhatsApps.)

QUESTION: If everyone’s inbox is full and every phone is pinging…

How Are You Standing Out?

Because more pings ≠ more profit.

Better connection = better conversions.

And maybe—just maybe—it’s time to say less and mean more.
