We as a family played the Traitors – Live Experience yesterday.
I was voted out first. My daughter won.
And honestly? I couldn’t be prouder.
I asked the group afterwards:
“Why did you guys vote for me?”
The answers were fascinating—and revealing:
“You stood out.”
“You were confident.”
“You felt like a leader.”
“You didn’t blend in.”
And I smiled… because that’s been the story of my life.
Standing Out Makes You a Target
I’ve never been a sheep.
I’ve never blended in to make others comfortable.
I’ve always followed my own path—clinically, commercially, ethically.
I’m direct.
What you see is what you get.
If I like you, you’ll know.
If I don’t, you’ll also know.
If something crosses my ethical line, I will say it—calmly, clearly, and without theatrics.
I’ve never believed in being pleasant to someone’s face and poisonous behind their back.
And yes—being visible, confident, and values-led makes you vote-out material in certain rooms.
I’m comfortable with that.
Intelligence Wears Many Faces
Now let’s talk about my daughter.
She is deeply ethical.
High values.
Kind.
Respectful.
But she also loves Psychology—and plans to study it at Uni next year.
And yesterday, she demonstrated something powerful:
She played the game beautifully.
Soft on the outside.
Warm smile.
Unassuming presence.
But underneath?
A highly analytical, observant, strategic mind.
She listened more than she spoke.
She read people.
She adapted her behaviour without compromising who she is.
That combination—emotional intelligence + cognitive strategy—is why she won.
Not louder.
Not dominant.
Not performative.
Just quietly effective.
P.S.Never. Ever. Play poker with my daughter. ♠️
