I love reading, watching and attending workshops anything to do with business — especially marketing.

Lately, I keep seeing a couple of  names plastered everywhere as the best marketer alive. Now, I’m not here to argue with that — taste in marketers is just like your old record collection (yes, I’m old enough to still remember those).

The names in question? Alex Hormozi & Rory Sutherland.

I’ve been reading, riding along with and watching both of these for several years — long before they became more popular than the Kardashians.

And yes, they definitely both make it into my Top 10 marketers of all time.

But here’s the kicker… they don’t crack my Top 5.

Here’s my Top 5

You’ll be surprised who takes the number 1 spot.

My Top 5 Marketers of All Time (with a twist):

5 – Viktor Frankl – Not a “marketer,” but Man’s Search for Meaning is the ultimate study of human motivation, desire and storytelling.

4 – Robert Cialdini – The psychology of influence. Scarcity, authority, reciprocity — he gave us the playbook.

3 – Russell Brunson – Love him or hate him, he turned funnels into a household concept and proved packaging is half the game.

2 – Dan Kennedy – The ruthless direct response genius. He could sell ice to Eskimos, and then upsell them on the defrosting guide.

1 – Eugene Schwartz – Breakthrough Advertising

The godfather of copywriting. He didn’t just write ads — he mapped out how markets evolve, how buyers think and how to ethically harness desire. Breakthrough Advertising is still the most coveted marketing book today, often selling for £100+ a copy. Worth every penny. (Yes, I’ll share a photo of me holding it.)

Marketing isn’t just ads and funnels. It’s psychology, persuasion, copywriting and the ability to spread ideas that stick. That’s why my list mixes traditional marketers with psychologists and even copywriter figures.
